Dehradun: As part of the “Seva, Good Governance and Dedication” and “Government for Every Citizen, at Every Doorstep” campaigns marking five years of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, multipurpose public service camps, grievance redressal camps, and public awareness programmes were organised across Uttarakhand on Thursday. Through these initiatives, government departments reached remote villages and delivered the benefits of various welfare schemes and public services to thousands of residents.
Departments including health, agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, industries, self-employment, social welfare, women and child development, rural development, Panchayati Raj, revenue, education, labour, employment, AYUSH, electricity, drinking water, and food and civil supplies set up information stalls at the camps. Eligible beneficiaries received on-the-spot services such as health check-ups, free medicines, certificates, social security pensions, benefits under the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme, Mahalakshmi Kits, agricultural assistance, and other welfare programmes.
Large numbers of people attended camps held in locations including Narsan (Haridwar), Regadu (Champawat), Purola (Uttarkashi), Thalisain (Pauri), Kotabagh (Nainital), Dasholi and Gwaldam (Chamoli), and Jaspur (Udham Singh Nagar). At the Kotabagh camp, 16 beneficiaries under the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme received cheques worth nearly ₹13 lakh, while eligible women were also provided Mahalakshmi Kits.
According to official figures, more than 2,366 citizens benefited from various government schemes and services through the camps held across the state. More than 389 complaints and applications were received, of which over 257 cases were resolved on the spot, while the remaining were forwarded to the concerned departments for time-bound action.
Members of Parliament, MLAs, state ministers, heads of commissions and councils, district magistrates, chief development officers, and other senior officials inspected departmental stalls and directed officials to ensure transparent and timely resolution of every complaint so that no eligible citizen is deprived of government benefits.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that “Seva, Good Governance and Dedication” forms the foundation of the state government’s work culture. He said the “Government for Every Citizen, at Every Doorstep” campaign is taking governance directly to the people, enabling residents of remote areas to access multiple government services and welfare schemes within their own localities. He added that the government’s goal is to ensure that development and welfare schemes reach the last person in society while strengthening trust and transparency between the government and the public.
