Dehradun: To provide quick and effective medical assistance to people injured in road accidents, the Uttarakhand Government is working to strengthen the Integrated Emergency Response System. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting with concerned departments and directed that all emergency helpline services be integrated with the unified helpline 112 at both technical and operational levels.
The Chief Secretary said that all necessary work should be completed within the stipulated timeframe as per the directions of the Supreme Court, and wide publicity should also be given to the new system. He said that after the integration of helplines, all emergency services such as police, fire, and medical assistance will be available through a single call to 112. Directions were also issued to develop an automated system without human intervention for this purpose.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed that the Good Samaritan grievance redressal mechanism be made effective by appointing the Director General of Health at the state level and Chief Medical Officers at the district level as nodal officers. He also instructed that regular monthly meetings be conducted and their details uploaded on the portal.
He directed that GPS and vehicle tracking devices as per AIS-125 standards must be installed in all government and private ambulances and connected with helpline 112 in real time.
The Chief Secretary assigned the responsibility of establishing a state-level Trauma Registry to the Transport Department and directed that all hospitals be connected with it and integrated with the National Trauma Registry as well. He also issued instructions to ensure 100 percent implementation of the PM Relief Scheme.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Additional Secretaries Vineet Kumar, Rohit Meena, Tripti Bhatt, Joint Transport Commissioner Sanat Kumar Singh, and senior officials from various departments.
