Kalash Vandan Maha Rally Flagged Off in Roorkee, CM Dhami Says Sant Ravidas’ Teachings Remain Relevant

Roorkee: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the Kalash Vandan Maha Rally at CMD Inter College in Chudiyala village of Bhagwanpur on the occasion of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Ravidas. He inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and paid floral tributes to Sant Ravidas.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that the teachings and ideals of Sant Shiromani Ravidas continue to inspire society with the values of equality, social harmony, and humanity. He said it was a matter of pride for him to participate in the event on the sacred land of Bhagwanpur.

The Chief Minister informed that holy water from Kashi had been brought in a ceremonial Kalash under the leadership of a Cabinet Minister and would be sent to different districts across the state. He said that eliminating discrimination and caste-based divisions and living together in unity would be the true tribute to Sant Ravidas.

CM Dhami said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made across the country to promote social harmony and ensure due respect for saints and great spiritual leaders. He added that the state government is also committed to following the path shown by Sant Ravidas and ensuring that the benefits of development schemes reach the last person in society.
