Dehradun: The Kanwar Yatra 2026 is continuing smoothly and safely in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, with the state government highlighting extensive arrangements for security, traffic management, and public services. According to official figures, more than 21.97 million (2 crore 19 lakh 70 thousand) Shiva devotees have safely collected holy Ganga water and departed for their destinations.
Government data showed that by 6:00 p.m. on August 6, 2026, as many as 3.915 million (39.15 lakh) Kanwar pilgrims had returned with Ganga water in a single day. Comprehensive arrangements have been made throughout the pilgrimage, including traffic regulation, security, healthcare services, drinking water, sanitation, and law-and-order management.
Chief Minister Dhami described the Kanwar Yatra as a grand festival of faith, discipline, and service. He appealed to devotees, local residents, volunteer organisations, and officials from various departments to continue working together to ensure the pilgrimage remains safe and well-organised.
He expressed confidence that, with coordinated efforts and public cooperation, the Kanwar Yatra 2026 would conclude successfully and further reinforce Uttarakhand’s reputation for efficient management and warm hospitality.
