CM Dhami Extends Raksha Bandhan Greetings to the People of Uttarakhand

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. He said that Raksha Bandhan is a sacred festival symbolizing the unbreakable bond of love, trust, and the commitment to protect one another between brothers and sisters. The festival also strengthens the spirit of respect for women and social harmony.

The Chief Minister said that respect for and empowerment of women are among the top priorities of the state government. He emphasized that the vision of a prosperous Uttarakhand cannot be realized without empowering women. Along with providing women with opportunities for self-employment and employment, the state is also providing 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in government services.

He said that a large number of women are moving towards self-reliance by becoming members of self-help groups. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several initiatives have been undertaken for the dignity, safety, and self-reliance of women.

The Chief Minister informed that on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, women across the state have been provided free travel facilities on Uttarakhand Transport Corporation buses on August 28 and 29. He appealed to the people of the state to work together for the dignity, safety, and empowerment of women.
