Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday met young mountaineers Riyansh Pant and Prisha Rawat at the Chief Minister’s residence. The two children from Uttarakhand had successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. The Chief Minister congratulated them on their achievement and wished them a bright future.
The Chief Minister said that successfully scaling the 5,895-metre-high Mount Kilimanjaro at such a young age reflects their courage, determination and self-confidence. By unfurling the Tricolour at the summit, the two children have brought glory to Uttarakhand. Their achievement will inspire other children and young people in the state to set ambitious goals and work towards achieving them.
Nine-year-old Riyansh Pant, a resident of Chinakhan in Almora, and 10-year-old Prisha Rawat, a resident of Bailparao in Nainital district, successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro on August 22, 2026. The Chief Minister said that the children and youth of Uttarakhand possess immense talent, courage and potential. Young talents from the state are bringing laurels to Uttarakhand at the national and international levels through mountaineering, sports and adventure activities.
He said that the state government is continuously working to encourage young talent and provide them with better opportunities to move forward.
Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is the highest mountain in Africa. It stands at an elevation of 5,895 metres above sea level.
