Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government, on Sunday, issued transfer and posting orders for nine police officers, including seven IPS officers and one SPS officer, bringing changes across several key police and specialised units.
The reshuffle is particularly significant for 2004-batch IPS officer Kanthi Rana Tata and 2010-batch IPS officer Vishal Gunni, who had been awaiting posting after their suspension was revoked by the state government earlier this month in connection with the Kadambari Jethwani case.
Tata has now been appointed Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Traffic Management and Road Safety, while Gunni has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training, with full additional charge as Director of the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA).
The latest orders also establish police leadership for the newly specified districts of Markapuram, Palnadu and Polavaram, with three officers appointed as Superintendents of Police.
Kanthi Rana Tata Gets Traffic Management and Road Safety
Kanthi Rana Tata, an IPS officer of the 2004 Andhra Pradesh cadre, was awaiting posting following the revocation of his suspension.
He has now been appointed Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Traffic Management and Road Safety.
Vishal Gunni Posted as DIG Training
Vishal Gunni, a 2010-batch IPS officer, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training.
He will also hold full additional charge as Director of the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (APPA).
Gunni had also been awaiting posting following the revocation of his suspension.
Three Officers Appointed SPs in Newly Specified Districts
The reshuffle brings three officers into charge of the newly specified districts.
Pankaj Kumar Meena, a 2020-batch IPS officer who was serving as OSD, Polavaram, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Markapuram district.
Jagadeesh Adahalli, another 2020-batch IPS officer and SP, CMSG, has been transferred and posted as Superintendent of Police, Palnadu district.
K Chakravathi, an SPS officer of the 2020 batch and SP, CID, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Polavaram district.

- Kanthi Rana Tata (IPS:2004:AP), awaiting posting → Inspector General of Police, Directorate of Traffic Management and Road Safety.
- Vishal Gunni (IPS:2010:AP), awaiting posting → Deputy Inspector General of Police, Training, with full additional charge as Director, Andhra Pradesh Police Academy.
- Babujee Attada (IPS:2011:AP), DIG, Greyhounds → DIG, Technical Services, with full additional charge as DIG, Greyhounds.

The latest reshuffle places senior officers in specialised policing, forensic, cybercrime, railway, training and traffic-related roles, while also filling the SP-level leadership positions in Markapuram, Palnadu and Polavaram.
