Haryana Youths Share Uttarakhand Travel Experiences; CM Dhami Urges Them to Become Digital Brand Ambassadors

Dehradun: A delegation of youth from Haryana, currently on a three-day tour of Uttarakhand, met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Saturday. Sharing their travel experiences, the youth lauded the state’s road and digital connectivity, tourism initiatives, home-stay schemes, solar energy policies, development of border regions, and public welfare programs.

The delegation noted that the three-day exposure trip provided them with a close-up understanding of Uttarakhand’s diverse regions and the ground-level impact of government schemes. They highlighted the significant expansion of road and digital infrastructure despite challenging mountainous terrain, while also appreciating ongoing efforts to expand the rail network.

The Haryana youth praised Uttarakhand’s pristine environment, superior air quality, and hospitable culture. They noted that government support for home-stays is generating self-employment opportunities for locals, while infrastructure growth in border regions is delivering effective public amenities. Additionally, enhanced facilities for pilgrimage and tourism are driving an increase in visitor numbers. They also identified the rooftop solar scheme as a practical initiative tailored to the state’s topography.

Welcoming the delegation, Chief Minister Dhami remarked that ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ (Guest is God) is an integral part of Uttarakhand’s culture. He emphasized that inter-state youth exchange programs foster mutual understanding of diverse cultures, development initiatives, and innovations.

CM Dhami stated that the state government is committed to ensuring development reaches the last person in line. Highlighting key achievements, he mentioned that approximately 35,000 youths have been appointed to government services over the past five years. He added that Uttarakhand is advancing by balancing development with heritage, focusing on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), women empowerment, self-employment, local products, and border area development.

The Chief Minister urged the Haryana youth to share their experiences with friends and across social media platforms, encouraging them to act as Digital Brand Ambassadors for Uttarakhand to promote its culture, tourism, local products, millets, handicrafts, and women self-help groups nationwide.
