CM Dhami Interacts with SC-ST Community Members; Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Inclusive Growth

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with members of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan, located at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Tuesday. Citizens attending from various parts of the state—especially remote and mountainous regions—presented their local developmental requirements and grievances directly before the Chief Minister. Listening attentively, CM Dhami instructed the concerned officials to resolve all issues on a priority basis.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government aims to integrate every section, region, and individual of Uttarakhand into the mainstream of development. Reaching the last person in the queue with government welfare schemes remains a core priority. He emphasized that direct communication between the government and the public is essential for a successful democracy.

Reflecting on the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, CM Dhami noted that his principles of equality, social justice, and equal opportunity continue to serve as a beacon of inspiration. The government is implementing targeted schemes for the social, economic, and educational empowerment of underprivileged and vulnerable groups, with special budget allocations earmarked for remote area development.

Understanding Ground Realities in Remote Regions:

Highlighting his field visits over the past five years, the Chief Minister mentioned touring remote and border regions like Chakrata, Kalsi, Jaunsar-Bawar, and Uttarkashi to assess local issues firsthand and align government schemes with grassroots needs. He praised the rich tribal heritage of Uttarakhand, highlighting events like the Aadi Gaurav Mahotsav that provide a platform for tribal traditions, folk art, handicrafts, and lifestyles.

CM Dhami outlined targeted development efforts in education, road connectivity, healthcare, drinking water, housing, electricity, and employment—citing Eklavya Model Residential Schools and scholarship schemes. He also highlighted the role of women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in promoting local handicrafts, urging officials to connect traditional artisans with modern design, training, and marketing opportunities to boost their income.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Sarita Arya and Durgeshwar Lal, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, IG Garhwal Rajiv Swaroop, alongside departmental officials and SC/ST representatives from across the state.
