Dehradun: Uttarakhand Police is likely to be honored with the President’s Police Colour on State Foundation Day, November 9. Union Home Minister Amit Shah may present the honor, though official confirmation regarding his visit and the ceremony is awaited.
The announcement to award the President’s Police Colour to Uttarakhand Police was made earlier this year in April. Preparations for the award ceremony have been underway since, with reports confirming that the design for the President’s Police Colour for Uttarakhand Police has been finalized.
The President’s Police Colour is a prestigious honor awarded to a police force for outstanding service and performance following evaluations across multiple administrative metrics, including law and order maintenance, crime control, internal security, disaster management, public safety, and technological innovation. The honor is rendered on the police force’s flag and uniform, symbolizing its identity, pride, and tradition.
Uttarakhand Police successfully met these evaluation standards, leading to its selection for the award. Goa Police was also announced for the President’s Police Colour in April, with its presentation ceremony already concluded.
Preparations are progressing to bestow this distinction upon Uttarakhand Police. Sources indicate that a ceremony may be held in Dehradun on State Foundation Day, November 9, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah may present the President’s Police Colour.
