On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated beautification and stage construction works carried out at Government Higher Secondary School, Nagla Tarai, at a cost of about ₹65 lakh. He interacted with students and distributed chocolates and learning materials.
Sharing memories of his childhood school with locals, the Chief Minister stated that developing it into a model school will provide local children with a better academic environment and quality education. He noted that the government is working to develop schools as model schools, establish smart classes, and provide a better academic ambiance across various districts of the state.
Dhami remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the last villages of border regions as the country’s first villages. In alignment with this vision, focus is being directed toward developing border districts—including Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Chamoli, and Uttarkashi—and improving their educational systems. The construction of modern and smart classrooms at the school in Nagla Tarai, situated near the Nepal border, has been undertaken in this direction.
