Dhami Govt Gifts Bonus to State Employees on Deepawali, Maximum ₹6,908 to Be Given

Dehradun: On the occasion of Deepawali, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved ad-hoc bonuses for state personnel. Approved for the financial year 2025-26, this bonus will benefit non-gazetted employees of the state government as well as eligible daily-wage personnel. Eligible employees will be given a bonus equivalent to 30 days of emoluments. The maximum monthly emolument ceiling for calculation has been set at ₹7,000, based on which employees will receive a maximum of approximately ₹6,908.

According to the Government Order issued by the Finance Department, apart from Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ employees, non-gazetted employees of Group ‘B’ drawing a grade pay of ₹4,800—meaning up to pay level-8 in the revised pay scale—will also receive the bonus. This benefit will be available to employees not covered under any other productivity-linked bonus scheme.

To qualify for the bonus, being in service on March 31, 2026, and completing at least six months of continuous and satisfactory service by that date is mandatory. Eligible employees with service between six months and one year will receive bonuses on a pro-rata basis as per rules.

Daily Wagers Also to Benefit

The Government Order includes eligible daily wage and casual workers. Employees working for at least 240 days each year in offices with a 6-day working week, or at least 206 days each year in offices with a 5-day working week over the past three years or more, will receive the bonus. The maximum monthly ceiling for their calculation has been set at ₹1,200, enabling them to receive a maximum of roughly ₹1,184.

The decision will also benefit eligible personnel of work-charged establishments across various government departments, aided educational and technical institutions, local bodies, and district panchayats. Eligible employees of local bodies and development authorities, where applicable, will receive bonuses under prescribed arrangements, to be paid from the respective body’s or authority’s own resources.

Chief Minister Dhami stated that government employees play a vital role in the state’s development. Welfare schemes and development works are brought to the ground through their hard work and dedication. The government is sensitive toward the interests and welfare of personnel and is committed to providing them with encouragement and necessary facilities.
