Dehradun: Acting on the request of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a regular halt for Train Nos. 15093/15094 Achhnera–Tanakpur Express at Banbasa Railway Station. The Railway Minister informed the Chief Minister of the decision through an official letter.
The Ministry of Railways said the approval was granted keeping public convenience in mind and in response to the Chief Minister’s recommendation. As a result, the Achhnera–Tanakpur Express will now make a scheduled stop at Banbasa Railway Station.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Dhami said the decision would significantly improve travel for residents of the border region, traders, students, families of defence personnel, and pilgrims.
He added that the new halt would strengthen rail connectivity in the Kumaon region and provide better transportation facilities for local residents.
