Dehradun: Following the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a high-level review meeting was held at the Secretariat to assess the progress of ongoing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The meeting, chaired by Housing Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, directed all implementing agencies and developers to complete every pending housing project by September 30, 2026.
The meeting reviewed all PMAY (Urban) projects in detail. The Housing Secretary said the scheme plays a vital role in providing permanent homes to economically weaker and needy families, adding that any negligence in construction or compromise in quality would not be tolerated.
Officials informed the meeting that 6,464 houses have been completed under the scheme in Uttarakhand so far. The process of handing over possession to eligible beneficiaries is also being expedited so that families can move into their homes at the earliest.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar instructed officials to accelerate construction at projects where progress has been slow. He also ordered regular field inspections and weekly progress reviews, with immediate resolution of any issues hindering construction.
He said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, remains committed to the effective implementation of the scheme. The objective, he said, is not merely to construct houses but to provide every eligible family with safe, quality, and dignified housing.
The meeting was attended by Joint Chief Administrator Dinesh Pratap Singh, Deputy Secretary (Housing) Rajneesh Jain, Executive Engineer Vinod Kumar Chauhan, Assistant Engineer Akash Chauhan, Housing Specialist Rohit Ranjan, and officials from implementing agencies and other concerned departments.
