Bihar Govt Transfers 12 Senior IPS Officers, 53 DSPs; Prita Verma, Amrit Raj, K S Anupam Among Key Reshuffle

Patna: The Bihar Government on Wednesday carried out a major reshuffle in the state police administration by transferring 12 senior IPS officers and 53 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). The transfers, notified by the Home Department, involve key postings across the Police Headquarters, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Traffic Police, Special Task Force (STF), Cyber Crime, Railways, Economic Offences Unit (EOU), Bihar Special Armed Police (BSAP), and district police units.

Several senior officers have been assigned new responsibilities, while a large number of DSP-rank officers have been shifted to investigative, training, headquarters, and field assignments.

Rajesh Kumar Sharma Gets Fresh Posting

Among the notable transfers is Rajesh Kumar Sharma, the former Jagdishpur SDPO who had earlier been placed on line duty after being named in the Bharat Bhushan Tiwari encounter case.

He has now been posted as:

  • DSP, Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau (SCRB), Patna

An FIR for murder had earlier been registered against Sharma, the then SHO Rajesh Malakar and other police personnel based on a complaint filed by Bharat Bhushan Tiwari’s mother. The victim’s family has been demanding the arrest of the accused officers.
