Budget for Women Empowerment and Nutrition Schemes Increased

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami presented a budget of ₹1,11,703.21 crore for the financial year 2026-27 in Gairsain.

The government significantly increased the gender budget, allocating ₹19,692.02 crore, compared to ₹16,961.32 crore in the previous year.

Major Schemes for Women and Children

  • Nirbhaya Fund – ₹112.02 crore
  • Chief Minister Mahalakshmi Kit Scheme – ₹30 crore
  • Chief Minister Child Nutrition Scheme – ₹25 crore
  • Chief Minister Vatsalya Scheme – ₹15 crore
  • Chief Minister Women Nutrition Scheme – ₹13.44 crore
  • Eija-Boi Shagun Scheme – ₹14.13 crore
  • Marriage assistance for daughters of destitute widows – ₹5 crore
  • Disaster Sakhi Scheme – ₹2 crore

The government says these initiatives aim to improve women’s health, nutrition, safety and economic empowerment.
