Center on alert regarding Char Dham Yatra, 15 companies of paramilitary forces to be deployed for security

Dehradun: The Union Home Secretary had earlier visited Uttarakhand to conduct on-ground inspection of the travel routes and arrangements. Following his directions, the state government has accelerated its preparations. The central government appears fully alert regarding the Char Dham Yatra. Special arrangements are being made this time to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of this important pilgrimage associated with the faith of millions of devotees every year. In this context, the central government has assured the deployment of 15 companies of paramilitary forces to Uttarakhand, which may be provided by May.

Recently, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for the Char Dham Yatra. He held a meeting with state government officials and gathered detailed information about all arrangements related to the pilgrimage. Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan was also present at the meeting. Key issues such as security, healthcare services, traffic management, helicopter services, basic infrastructure, and disaster management were discussed in detail.

He assured that, prioritizing the safety of devotees, 15 companies of paramilitary forces would be sent to Uttarakhand.
