Chamoli Gets Development Projects Worth ₹155.36 Crore; CM Dhami Lays Foundation Stones and Inaugurates 63 Projects

Gopeshwar (Chamoli): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami dedicated 63 development projects worth ₹155.36 crore to Chamoli district during the “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” programme held as part of the Seva, Good Governance and Dedication Fortnight.

At the event held at the Police Ground in Gopeshwar, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for 36 projects worth ₹113.99 crore and inaugurated 27 completed projects worth ₹41.37 crore.

Addressing the gathering, Dhami said the state government’s objective is to ensure that the benefits of development schemes reach the last person in society. He added that rapid work is underway across Uttarakhand to strengthen roads, bridges, healthcare, education, irrigation, flood protection, tourism, animal husbandry, and other essential infrastructure.

He described Chamoli as a district of immense religious, cultural, and strategic importance and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its all-round development.

Major Foundation Stone Projects

The projects whose foundation stones were laid include:

  • A steel truss bridge at Jugju on the Joshimath–Niti road.
  • A 78-metre steel bridge on the Langsi–Dwing–Tapovan–Lanji–Pokhani motor road.
  • Construction and widening of several motor roads.
  • Restoration of 13 mountain irrigation canals in the Nandanagar area.
  • Multiple flood protection projects.
  • A Model Government Veterinary Hospital at Nandprayag.
  • A veterinary hospital at Talwari.
  • Community buildings, parking facilities, school buildings, steel girder bridges, and several road infrastructure projects.

Major Inaugurated Projects

The inaugurated works include:

  • Interlocking tile paving on the Gairsain main road.
  • Construction and blacktopping of several motor roads.
  • Healthcare buildings at Chamoli District Hospital and the BPHU at Pokhari.
  • Libraries, science laboratories, and art and craft rooms in schools.
  • A badminton hall at Gopeshwar Sports Stadium.
  • Bairagana Trout Indoor Hatchery.
  • Kalpeshwar Pathway and Arch Bridge.
  • Cooperative society buildings.
  • Upgradation of various motor roads.

The Chief Minister said these projects would significantly strengthen road connectivity, healthcare, education, tourism, sports infrastructure, irrigation, fisheries, and other essential public services in Chamoli. He directed officials to ensure high-quality and timely execution of all projects.

The programme was attended by Minister-in-Charge Bharat Singh Chaudhary, Badrinath MLA Lakhpat Butola, Karnaprayag MLA Anil Nautiyal, Tharali MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Daulat Singh Bisht, public representatives, administrative officials, and a large number of local residents.
