Rishikesh: CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said the Char Dham Yatra is not just a religious tradition but a path connecting the soul and faith. The valleys of Badrinath and Kedarnath are once again ready to witness a surge of devotion.
On April 18, the Yatra was formally inaugurated in Rishikesh. The Chief Minister flagged off buses carrying pilgrims at an event organized by the Joint Rotation Yatra Arrangement Committee.
After flagging off the buses, he inspected a free health camp set up for pilgrims. Given the difficulty of high-altitude travel, such camps are especially important for elderly and heart patients.
Addressing the gathering, he said the government is committed to making the journey smooth, safe, organized, and divine. He added that he is personally reviewing preparations regularly.
This year, the government has also set a goal of a “Green Char Dham Yatra” and “Plastic-Free Kedarnath.” Dustbins have been made mandatory in all vehicles, and regular cleaning arrangements have been ensured.
He also highlighted infrastructure development, including the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, reconstruction work in Kedarnath and Badrinath, and improvements under the All-Weather Road project. Ropeway projects are also progressing.
New arrangements include shuttle services in landslide-prone areas and LED information boards for real-time updates. Health facilities have also been strengthened, including hospitals in Kedarnath and Badrinath.
He urged pilgrims to buy local products to support the livelihoods of local communities.
