Chief Minister Dhami Celebrates Harela Festival in Pauri Garhwal, Promotes Environmental Conservation Through Plantation Drive

Pauri Garhwal: On the occasion of the Harela Festival, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Malagram in Yamkeshwar block on Tuesday and participated in a large-scale plantation drive, conveying the message of environmental conservation and a greener Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister also toured Shri Dhanvantari Dham Herbal World Himalaya, where he observed its collection of rare medicinal plants, ongoing research activities, and Ayurvedic innovations. He also inspected the meditation cottage within the campus.

Dhami said Uttarakhand’s biodiversity, Himalayan medicinal herbs, and traditional Ayurvedic knowledge are invaluable assets that require conservation and scientific research. He noted that these efforts would not only help protect the environment but also promote herbal tourism, Ayurveda-based research, and self-employment opportunities for local youth.

Describing Shri Dhanvantari Dham Herbal World Himalaya as a unique herbal park in India, he said it scientifically conserves and nurtures rare medicinal herbs collected from various Himalayan regions and states, serving as an important example of integrating traditional medicine with modern research.

The event was attended by Patanjali Yogpeeth founder Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, State Women’s Commission Chairperson Kusum Kandwal, Yamkeshwar MLA Renu Bisht, District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadauria, Senior Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar, BJP district president Rajgaurav Nautiyal, public representatives, officials, and a large number of local residents.
