Chief Minister Dhami unveils Panchang calendar dedicated to Sanatan tradition

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially launched the Panchang calendar published by the Information and Public Relations Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on the auspicious occasion of the Hindu New Year. He described it as an important initiative to preserve and promote Uttarakhand’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

The Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has a distinct identity in India and abroad due to its Sanatan traditions, religious beliefs, and cultural values. These traditions are not just about faith but are an integral part of lifestyle, social structure, and cultural consciousness.

He added that the Panchang calendar will serve as a powerful medium to preserve this heritage and pass it on to future generations. It will provide information about dates, days, lunar phases, months, festivals, and special occasions, along with the significance of traditional festivals, fasts, and religious events.

The calendar also highlights major religious and spiritual sites of Uttarakhand, which are not only centers of faith but also symbols of the state’s historical and spiritual legacy. Thus, the calendar is both an informative document and an inspiring compilation reflecting Uttarakhand’s culture.

He appreciated the initiative of the Information Department and said the calendar would be useful for citizens and would be further enriched in the future. Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, Director General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, and other officials were also present.
