Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved financial sanctions worth around ₹1096 crore for various development projects related to education, tourism, urban and rural local bodies, and preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027.
Under the State Plan, the Chief Minister approved ₹9.43 crore for construction of a bridge over the Guruni stream at Pataliya in Kotabagh, located in the Kaladhungi Assembly constituency of Nainital district.
Additionally, approval has been granted for construction of a car parking facility at Mohan Bazaar, Mukteshwar in Ramgarh development block, with a total sanctioned amount of ₹9.89 crore. Out of this, ₹3.95 crore has been approved as the first installment.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also approved the release of ₹328.27 crore to all urban local bodies for the first quarter of the financial year 2026–27 under the Sixth State Finance Commission. An additional ₹3 crore has been approved for three non-elected local bodies for the first half of the financial year. In total, ₹331.27 crore has been sanctioned.
Apart from this, under the three-tier Panchayati Raj system, approval has been granted for release of ₹82.20 crore to district panchayats for the first quarter, ₹75.46 crore to block panchayats for the first half of the year, and ₹194.61 crore to gram panchayats. Altogether, ₹352.27 crore has been sanctioned for Panchayati Raj institutions.
The Chief Minister also approved release of ₹80 crore as the first installment against a provision of ₹160 crore for payment of salaries to employees of non-government aided schools under primary education.
Similarly, approval has been granted for release of ₹300 crore for the first six months of the financial year 2026–27 under the Secondary Education Department.
Several important projects related to preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027 under the Urban Development Department have also received approval.
In Haridwar, ₹6.44 crore has been sanctioned for renovation of internal roads at Shankaracharya Chowk, Devpura Chowk, Chandracharya Chowk, and Aryanagar Chowk.
Additionally, ₹6.83 crore has been approved for junction improvement and beautification at Ranipur Mod, Shankar Ashram, Shiv Murti Chowk, and Jhanda Chowk. Approval has also been granted for release of ₹5.95 crore for supply and operation of modern EV road sweeping machines in the Kumbh Mela area.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed all concerned departments to complete development works within the stipulated timeline and maintain quality standards so that the public can benefit from these schemes as soon as possible.
