Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan Reviews Various Projects Under State Pragati, Directs Timely Completion of Works

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan reviewed various important projects and schemes of the state during a meeting held at the Secretariat on Friday. During the meeting, he said that the “State Pragati” system has been launched to ensure monitoring and timely implementation of major state projects.

The Chief Secretary said that under State Pragati, important projects will be reviewed regularly to accelerate work and ensure completion within stipulated timelines.

While reviewing sewerage projects in Nainital, the Chief Secretary directed officials to quickly remove obstacles affecting the construction of STPs and trunk sewers. He said that for projects affected by landslides, departments should obtain necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for new land at the earliest, set revised timelines, and ensure continuous monitoring until completion.

During the review of STP construction work in Narendra Nagar municipality, the Chief Secretary directed the district administration to resolve issues through dialogue with concerned stakeholders.

Similarly, regarding the Haldwani-Kathgodam water supply scheme, he instructed officials to continuously follow up on matters related to forest land transfer and ensure early resolution.

Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan also reviewed the Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Self-Employment Scheme. He instructed officials to provide all possible support to applicants so that more people can benefit from these schemes and directed departments to maintain better coordination with banking institutions.

He further said that important state schemes should be evaluated every five years so that shortcomings can be identified and improvements made to enhance effectiveness.

During the review of the Mission Apple scheme, the Chief Secretary emphasized adopting a cluster-based model. He said more progressive farmers should be connected with the scheme and high-density apple farming should be promoted in areas such as Purola and Mori.

He instructed officials to provide complete support to farmers, from supplying plants to marketing assistance. He also said that preparations for cold storage facilities should begin immediately considering future requirements.

Additionally, he suggested incorporating options such as honey bee farming to make the scheme more successful.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan, Additional Secretary Abhishek Rohila, and senior officials from various departments.
