Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a major announcement in response to a student’s question during the ‘Chief Minister’s Young Student Chintan’ programme. He said that students studying in Classes 10 and 12 in government schools would be provided financial assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts for purchasing tablets.
During the programme held at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office, students asked the Chief Minister questions and shared suggestions on various issues related to education and the development of the state. On the occasion, Class 11 student Lovepreet Kaur from Haridwar raised the issue of online education and said that it was difficult for economically weaker families to provide children with mobile phones or laptops.
Responding to the student’s question, the Chief Minister announced during the programme itself that students studying in Classes 10 and 12 in government schools would receive financial assistance in their bank accounts for tablets. The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to integrate the education system with modern technology and provide students with better educational opportunities.
He said that direct interaction with students is an important means of understanding their expectations and suggestions. The government is working to make better use of technology in education while providing students with greater opportunities to move forward.
