CM Dhami Conducts Surprise Inspection of Rishikesh Transit Camp for Char Dham Yatra

Dehradun/Rishikesh: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday carried out a surprise inspection of the Char Dham Yatra Transit Camp in Rishikesh to review pilgrimage arrangements.

During the visit, he inspected registration facilities, health check-up centres, drinking water arrangements, accommodation facilities, and crowd-management systems. He also interacted directly with pilgrims from various states and sought their feedback on travel arrangements.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that pilgrims do not face unnecessary delays during registration and directed them to provide additional coolers and adequate drinking water facilities in view of rising temperatures.

He emphasized that the safety and convenience of pilgrims remain the government’s top priority and urged staff to serve visitors in the spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava” (Guests are God).

Pilgrims from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar appreciated the arrangements. Many elderly pilgrims personally met the Chief Minister and thanked him for making the pilgrimage smoother and more organized.

Pilgrims have also responded positively to the screening of the Ramayana and the Mahabharata on LED screens at the transit camp. Stalls run by women’s self-help groups featuring local products and community kitchen services have also emerged as key attractions.
