Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued strict directions to officials to ensure the timely, high-quality, and satisfactory disposal of public grievances during a review meeting of the CM Helpline-1905. He said the helpline is an effective platform for the prompt resolution of citizens’ problems and warned that any negligence in handling complaints will not be tolerated.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed concern over the large number of pending complaints related to the Drinking Water Department and the Jal Jeevan Mission. He directed the concerned officials to resolve all pending cases within one week and warned that strict action would be taken against those who fail to meet the deadline.
The Chief Minister also ordered that officials with a zero percent action rate on complaints be issued immediate show-cause notices. If satisfactory explanations are not received, disciplinary action will be initiated as per rules. He instructed department heads and District Magistrates to regularly review pending complaints and carefully examine complaints categorized as Special Close, Demand, and Suggestion.
CM Dhami further directed that Samadhan Diwas (Public Grievance Resolution Day) be organized every Monday at the district, divisional, and state levels. He also instructed officials to strengthen arrangements along the Char Dham Yatra routes, prioritize the resolution of land disputes, and ensure that retired employees receive their pensions from the very first month after retirement.
Officials informed the meeting that between 18 April and 28 July 2026, the CM Helpline-1905 received 67,843 complaints. Of these, 20,461 complaints were fully resolved, 31,363 were partially resolved, 7,404 are under process, 4,061 remain pending, and 3,738 complaints fall under the Special Close category. The Chief Minister said that in the next review meeting, departments will be evaluated not only on the number of complaints resolved but also on the quality of resolution and the satisfaction of complainants.
