Khatima: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami personally drove a tiller and ploughed his field at his private residence in Nagla Tarai on Monday. He also applied natural manure made from cow dung, promoting organic and traditional farming practices. His mother, Mrs. Bishna Devi, was present during the activity.
The Chief Minister highlighted the hard work of farmers and the importance of agricultural traditions. He said that farming is not merely a source of livelihood but also the foundation of Indian culture and the rural economy.
Emphasis on Organic Farming
CM Dhami said that natural farming methods, including the use of cow dung manure, help improve soil fertility and contribute significantly to environmental conservation. He encouraged farmers to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and adopt organic and natural farming practices.
He added that the state government is continuously working to increase farmers’ incomes, modernize agriculture, and promote organic products through various technical and financial support schemes.
Agriculture and Nature Define Uttarakhand
The Chief Minister stated that Uttarakhand’s true identity is rooted in agriculture, rural culture, and natural heritage. The government is making special efforts to promote traditional farming, horticulture, natural agriculture, and local products to strengthen farmers’ economic conditions.
Appeal to Youth
CM Dhami urged the younger generation to engage with agriculture and rural development, noting that modern technology and innovation have created vast opportunities in the agricultural sector, including employment and entrepreneurship.
His message was viewed as an important initiative toward conserving natural resources, encouraging sustainable agricultural practices, and preserving Uttarakhand’s traditional farming heritage.
