Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a review meeting of all development authorities under the Housing Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. He directed officials to accelerate pending master plans and development projects and to establish clear deadlines for every task to ensure accountability.
The Chief Minister said that unnecessary delays in development works would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed that all damaged roads within development authority areas be repaired within the next 15 days and that major beautification works be completed by October 15. He instructed officials to make the beautification work attractive and in line with the model adopted during the G20 Summit.
He directed that city parks be developed in all cities and that pink toilets be made mandatory in these parks. He set a target of completing around 70 percent of this work by the next review meeting. He also directed officials to provide the Chief Minister’s Office with detailed information on beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana within 15 days.
Taking a strict stance against illegal construction, the Chief Minister directed every development authority to establish an Illegal Construction Monitoring Dashboard. The dashboard will enable real-time monitoring of action ranging from identification of suspicious construction to issuance of notices, sealing, and demolition. He also directed officials to use GIS, satellite imagery, and drones to detect illegal construction at an early stage.
To find a permanent solution to parking problems in the Dehradun and Haridwar areas, the Chief Minister directed officials to prepare an action plan involving multi-level, surface, and peripheral parking facilities through public-private partnerships. He also directed that the online map approval system be integrated with all district-level development authorities and that procedures be made simpler, more transparent, and time-bound.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to prepare an action plan for implementing a land-pooling scheme on a pilot basis in two to three development areas. He also instructed authorities to pay special attention to the development of roads, street lighting, drinking water, and other civic amenities in rural and semi-urban areas.
The Chief Minister said that transparency, accountability, and maximum use of technology should be ensured in the functioning of development authorities. He emphasized that the benefits of development schemes must reach the public on time, with regular monitoring and clearly defined responsibilities at every level.
Principal Secretary R.K. Sudhanshu, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, vice-chairpersons of all development authorities, and other concerned officials were present at the meeting.
