CM Dhami launches ‘Shramik Seva Mobile App’, ₹17 crore transferred to 8,005 workers

Dehradun. The Uttarakhand government has taken a major step toward worker welfare and curbing migration by launching the ‘Shramik Seva Mobile App’. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched the app on Friday at the Chief Minister’s camp office and transferred about ₹17 crore directly into the bank accounts of 8,005 workers through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure maximum outreach of government schemes to workers and maintain complete transparency in grant distribution. He said the offline process has now been समाप्त, and benefits are being delivered through online systems and direct transfers to beneficiaries’ accounts.

More than ₹47 crore assistance in 6 months
Under this system, a total of ₹47.14 crore has been distributed to 19,833 beneficiaries so far. Earlier, ₹29.89 crore was given to 11,828 beneficiaries.

Focus on stopping migration
The Chief Minister said that to curb migration from hilly areas, it is essential to create employment opportunities at the local level. Workers and their dependents will be given skill training in trades like plumbing, electrical work, masonry, and carpentry.

Training in yoga and wellness
He also directed that children of workers should receive free training in yoga and wellness to open up new employment avenues.

Overseas employment opportunities
The government is also working to provide overseas employment opportunities to trained workers through agencies registered with the Ministry of External Affairs.

Focus on health and social security
Instructions were given to link workers with the PM SVANidhi scheme and ensure regular health checkups at workplaces.

Transparency through online system
Labour Commissioner P.C. Dumka informed that more than 16,000 establishments have been registered on the UKLCCMS portal, with around ₹80 lakh collected as fees. Additionally, over ₹324 crore cess is available with the board for worker welfare.

An online system is also being implemented for transparent distribution of materials to construction workers, with monitoring through live photos and geo-tracking.
