Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the revival of the previously withdrawn declaration to grant revenue village status to Bindukhatta under the Lalkuan Assembly constituency, following a request by MLA Dr. Mohan Singh Bisht. The decision has created a sense of enthusiasm among local residents.
It is noteworthy that the Revenue Department had earlier announced granting revenue village status to Bindukhatta under a Chief Minister’s declaration. However, since the concerned area falls under forest land, it was not possible for the government to take a policy decision without obtaining a no-objection certificate from the Government of India through the Forest Department. Due to various statutory provisions, the process was expected to take time.
In a departmental review meeting held on July 1, 2025, after high-level discussions, a request was made from the Chief Minister’s Office to remove the declaration from the Revenue Department’s list, following which it was deleted.
Now, after the Chief Minister’s approval to revive the declaration, necessary action will be taken to grant revenue village status to Bindukhatta.
