CM Dhami Takes Strong Stand on Bomb Threat Emails; Warns Against Taking Law Into One’s Own Hands

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken a strong stance regarding threatening emails sent to various government institutions, municipal bodies, and religious sites across Uttarakhand. He stated that attempts to disturb law and order or undermine social harmony in the state will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The Chief Minister said the government has taken the threatening emails very seriously and has directed the concerned agencies to conduct a thorough investigation. He warned that any individual or organization found involved in such activities would face strict legal action.

Recently, institutions including the Mussoorie Municipal Council and Haridwar Municipal Corporation reportedly received emails threatening attacks on important religious locations such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Kedarnath Temple, and Badrinath Temple. Some of the emails were reportedly written in Punjabi and contained references allegedly linked to pro-Khalistan narratives. As a result, police, intelligence agencies, and cyber experts have intensified their investigation.

CM Dhami reiterated that Uttarakhand, known as Devbhoomi, welcomes pilgrims from across India and abroad for the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib pilgrimages. He emphasized that ensuring the safety and convenience of all visitors remains a top government priority.

He further warned that any individual or group attempting to take the law into their own hands or disrupt the state’s religious and social harmony would face strict legal consequences. Officials have also been directed to strengthen security arrangements at sensitive locations.

The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Uttarakhand’s peace and communal harmony are non-negotiable and that all those responsible will be brought within the ambit of the law.
