Dehradun: Ahead of the two-day Uttarakhand visit of Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a sharp political attack, saying that Rahul Gandhi is coming to Uttarakhand to “reopen the wounds of soldiers.”
Dhami alleged that Congress leaders have questioned the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces on several occasions, citing demands for proof of military operations and comments on defense matters.
He argued that in a state like Uttarakhand, which has a strong military tradition, former soldiers and military families have not forgotten such issues.
The Chief Minister also referred to the implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP), claiming that the demand remained unresolved during Congress governments but was implemented by the current central government.
He further accused Congress of attempting to create political divisions and pursue appeasement politics in the state. The remarks have intensified the war of words between the BJP and Congress ahead of future elections.
