Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the February 2026 pension installment through a one-click system. A total amount of ₹141 crore 91 lakh 61 thousand was transferred to the accounts of 957,651 beneficiaries across the state. This amount includes both monthly pensions and arrear payments.
During a review meeting of the Social Welfare Department held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that pension cases are resolved promptly and within stipulated timelines, and that no eligible person is deprived of social security schemes.
He emphasized the need for a wide public outreach campaign to ensure that information about welfare schemes reaches all eligible beneficiaries. He also directed officials to prepare and present an innovation-based action plan to connect deprived and vulnerable sections with government schemes.
The Chief Minister stated that the “Government at Every Doorstep” campaign has shown positive results across the state, leading to a significant increase in the number of pension beneficiaries. He instructed that such special drives should continue in remote and hilly areas to ensure that social security benefits reach the last person.
It was informed during the meeting that in February, under the Old Age Pension Scheme, ₹8,897.76 lakh was distributed at the rate of ₹1,500 per month to 593,184 beneficiaries. Under the Widow Pension Scheme, ₹3,473.895 lakh was distributed to 231,593 beneficiaries, and under the Disability Pension Scheme, ₹1,312.155 lakh was provided to 87,477 beneficiaries.
Additionally, under the Farmer Pension Scheme, ₹331.656 lakh was distributed to 27,638 beneficiaries; under the Abandoned Women Pension Scheme, ₹97.24 lakh was given to 8,096 beneficiaries; and under the Maintenance Grant Scheme, ₹51.86 lakh was distributed to 7,409 beneficiaries. Under the Teelu Rauteli Pension Scheme, ₹25.5 lakh was provided to 2,125 beneficiaries, while ₹1.55 lakh was distributed to 129 beneficiaries under the Dwarf Pension Scheme.
Chief Minister Dhami said that social security schemes are not merely financial assistance but a reflection of the commitment to social justice and inclusive development. The government’s goal is to ensure continuous financial support to vulnerable and needy sections of society so that they can live with dignity.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Shridhar Babu Addanki, Additional Secretary Sandeep Tiwari, Sanjay Singh Tolia, and senior officials of the Social Welfare Department.
