Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami strongly reacted to alleged objectionable remarks regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother and Rahul Gandhi laughing at them. He stated that a mother should never be a subject of politics and that insulting a mother is unacceptable in any civilized society.
The Chief Minister remarked that political opposition has its place, but crossing the boundaries of decorum in the name of opposition goes against democratic values and political ethics. Urging Rahul Gandhi to maintain dignity in political rivalry, he stated that such insensitivity and mockery are unacceptable.
In a statement released on social media, Dhami said using unparliamentary language regarding the Prime Minister’s late mother is inappropriate. He alleged that laughing at such a comment exposes one’s political values. He added that the mothers of the nation (Matrishakti) are watching these events, and such behavior in the name of political opposition cannot be considered democracy, service, or culture.
Calls Remarks on Doval Condemnable
Chief Minister Dhami also strongly condemned the language used by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. He said using such language against someone who has dedicated decades to the nation’s security is entirely inappropriate.
Dhami emphasized that the people of Uttarakhand know how to respect their brave sons and will not tolerate their insult. He added that the land of gods (Devbhoomi) honors its heroes and knows how to respond to those who disrespect them through democratic means.
