Dhami’s sharp attack on opposition at the rally; calls Rahul ‘Duryodhan’ and Akhilesh ‘Dushasan’

Dehradun: Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a strong attack on Congress and the Samajwadi Party during the Mahila Jan Aakrosh Rally at Parade Ground. Targeting the opposition over the Women’s Reservation Act, the Chief Minister termed Congress’s stance as anti-women.

In the presence of thousands of women, the Chief Minister referred to the Mahabharata, calling Rahul Gandhi ‘Duryodhan’ and Akhilesh Yadav ‘Dushasan’. He said the opposition has shown a contradictory approach on issues related to women’s rights.

Dhami also criticized Congress over dynastic politics, stating that women’s empowerment in the party has remained limited to a single family. Taking a dig at Priyanka Gandhi, he said that while Congress runs large campaigns on women’s rights, it stepped back in Parliament on key women-related issues.

The Chief Minister also accused the Uttarakhand Congress of having a double character, saying that its opposition in Parliament and protests in the state are merely political drama. He added that the women of Uttarakhand have understood this kind of politics.

He further said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, women’s empowerment has gained new direction. Schemes like Ujjwala, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and Jan Dhan have empowered women, and today women are leading in every field.
