Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday expressed gratitude to the people of Uttarakhand as he completed five years as the state’s “Chief Servant,” attributing the government’s development achievements to the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Centre-State “double-engine” government. He said the journey of public service over the past five years is dedicated to the trust, support, and blessings of the state’s 12.5 million residents.
According to an official statement, the Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the state government has given top priority to development, good governance, and the preservation of cultural heritage while taking several historic decisions. He said measures such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the anti-cheating law, the anti-conversion law, strengthening the land law, and replacing the Madrasa Board with the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority have given the state a new identity in the fields of good governance, equality, and transparency.
The Chief Minister said the government has ensured transparent recruitment for young people and has provided government employment to more than 34,000 youths over the past four and a half years. He also highlighted 30 percent horizontal reservation for women in government jobs, promotion of investment and employment, expansion of road, rail, and air connectivity, and significant progress in developing religious and tourism infrastructure, including the Char Dham circuit.
He added that several welfare schemes have been implemented for soldiers, farmers, women, and youth. Promotion of solar energy, homestays, and self-employment, along with the growth of the Char Dham Yatra and tourism, has strengthened the state’s economy. He also said that the House of Himalayas initiative is helping local products gain global recognition.
The Chief Minister further stated that the successful hosting of the National Games, the initiation of investment proposals worth over ₹1 lakh crore, and Uttarakhand’s strong performance on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have opened new avenues for the state’s development. He expressed confidence that the vision of a developed Uttarakhand would be achieved with the Prime Minister’s guidance and public support.
