Guidance of Saints Inspires Dharma, Culture and Nation-Building: Dhami

Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a programme held at Shri Brahm Niwas Ashram on Sapt Sarovar Road in Bhupatwala on the occasion of the 51st Nirvan Diwas of Satguru Lal Das Maharaj. Paying tribute to Satguru Lal Das Maharaj, he said the saint inspired society to follow the path of service, truth and devotion and worked to unite people.

The Chief Minister said the saint community has always made an important contribution to protecting religion, culture and the nation. The guidance of saints and spiritual teachers inspires society to move forward in the direction of nation-building while remaining connected to its religious and cultural traditions.

He said the country is witnessing a period of revival of Sanatan culture. Along with the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and religious corridors in Kashi and Ujjain, the government is also paying special attention to the development of religious sites in Uttarakhand. Kedarnath Dham has been reconstructed, while work on the reconstruction and beautification of various temples is being undertaken under the Temple Mala Mission.

The Chief Minister said work is underway on ropeway projects to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib. These projects will make access to difficult pilgrimage sites easier and provide greater convenience to elderly pilgrims. Various projects, including the Ganga Corridor, Rishikesh Corridor and Aastha Path, are also being developed in Haridwar.

He said preserving the sanctity, original character and cultural identity of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is a government priority. Along with providing devotees with a clean, safe and spiritual environment, strict action is being taken against activities that could adversely affect the culture and social environment of Devbhoomi.

The Chief Minister said the Centre for Hindu Studies in Dehradun is promoting religion, culture, knowledge, science and research. He said the government is continuously working to establish Uttarakhand among the country’s leading states in the fields of religion, development, innovation and knowledge.
