Hollyars from Champawat Visit CM Dhami, Perform Holi Songs, CM Wishes Prosperity and Well-being

Dehradun: A delegation of Hollyars from the remote mountainous regions of Champawat district visited the Chief Minister’s residence to meet Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and extended their heartfelt Holi greetings in a traditional manner. On this occasion, the Hollyars gave a melodious performance of the traditional folk songs of standing and sitting Holi, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Kumaon region.

Chief Minister Dhami warmly welcomed all the Hollyars and honored them. He said that Holi in Uttarakhand is not merely a festival of colors, but a vibrant symbol of our rich folk culture, classical music traditions, spiritual awareness, and social harmony. He added that the standing and sitting Holi of Champawat and the entire Kumaon region has a special identity across the country due to its unique style, classical ragas, and devotional spirit. This tradition is an invaluable part of our cultural heritage, which we all share the collective responsibility to preserve.

The Chief Minister stated that the state government is continuously working to preserve and promote folk art, folk music, and traditional festivals. Through various cultural platforms, festivals, and events, the rich cultural heritage of the state is being showcased at national and international levels. He emphasized that such events provide a strong medium to connect the younger generation to their roots, traditions, and values, while also strengthening feelings of brotherhood, love, and harmony in society.

On this occasion, the Hollyars sang traditional auspicious songs, wishing the state peace, prosperity, and continuous progress. The Chief Minister also extended heartfelt Holi greetings to all citizens of the state, wishing that this festival of colors brings new energy, positivity, happiness, and prosperity into everyone’s life. He added that this holy festival of Holi teaches us to forget our differences and celebrate in the colors of love, goodwill, and unity.
