Dehradun: Senior IAS officer Savin Bansal (2009 batch, Uttarakhand cadre) has been appointed on Central deputation as Joint Secretary in the Lok Sabha Secretariat for a tenure of three years.
His appointment has attracted attention because, during his tenure as Dehradun District Magistrate, a protocol-related complaint was reportedly sent to the state government by the same office following a visit by the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Earlier Controversy
During Bansal’s tenure as Dehradun District Magistrate, a dispute arose over protocol arrangements during the Lok Sabha Speaker’s visit. The Lok Sabha Secretariat reportedly complained that protocol norms were not followed and that the District Magistrate was unavailable by phone. The matter remained at the administrative level and was later resolved.
His appointment to the same office has once again brought the incident into public discussion.

Sources indicate that senior IAS officer Vandana may also be deputed to the Centre soon, while IAS officer Jyoti Yadav, who recently returned from Central deputation, is awaiting a new assignment in Uttarakhand.
