Khatima: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Lohiyahead Water Bypass in Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar district, on Sunday to inspect the site and assess its tourism potential. He instructed officials to develop the area into a major tourist destination.
The Chief Minister said the Lohiyahead Water Bypass has immense tourism potential and should be developed by preserving its natural beauty and utilizing local resources. He emphasized that the state government is consistently working to promote tourism through planned development.
He added that ambitious projects such as the Sharda Corridor and Sharda Riverfront would further boost the region’s overall development. These projects are expected to attract more tourists and accelerate local economic growth.
CM Dhami stated that tourism development would create new employment opportunities for local youth while promoting self-employment, local businesses, and higher incomes. The government’s objective is to maximize the tourism potential of every region and ensure direct benefits to local communities.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister directed the District Magistrate and concerned officials to maintain high-quality construction standards while ensuring environmental conservation and addressing local needs.
