Dehradun: A high-level EFC review meeting was held at the Secretariat, chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, regarding preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela. The meeting discussed in detail the progress and feasibility of the construction and beautification works at Triveni Ghat, Aastha Path, and Chandrabhaga Bridge in Rishikesh.
Strict instructions given to officials
The Chief Secretary directed the Irrigation Department, the implementing agency, to ensure that all recommendations made by the committee are incorporated into the projects.
He clearly stated that—
- Work should be completed within the stipulated timeframe
- Quality should not be compromised
- There should be no duplication in the projects
This much amount will be spent
In view of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, a total of ₹168.12 crore will be spent on the three projects:
🔹 Construction and beautification of Triveni Ghat – ₹109.80 crore
🔹 Construction of Aastha Path – ₹37.09 crore
🔹 Construction of Chandrabhaga Bridge – ₹21.23 crore
Compliance Report Reviewed
The compliance report submitted to the District Magistrate, Dehradun, Senior Superintendent of Police, and Fair Officer, Haridwar, in accordance with earlier instructions, was also reviewed.
