Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inquired about relief and rescue operations telephonically from the Secretary of Disaster Management regarding trekkers stranded due to snowfall in the high Himalayan region of Uttarkashi. He instructed officials to ensure the safe return of all trekkers and porters.
The Chief Minister stated that all necessary resources should be used effectively in the relief and rescue operation, and every possible effort should be made to safely evacuate each individual. He also issued directions to ensure that tourists who had visited the affected areas reach their destinations safely.
He added that proper arrangements for necessary medical assistance, food, and other essential facilities must be ensured for the stranded people. In view of the adverse weather, the concerned departments should execute relief and rescue operations with full alertness and mutual coordination.
The Chief Minister stressed that the safety of every pilgrim and tourist coming to Uttarakhand is the top priority of the state government. There should be no negligence at any level regarding the safety of trekkers and porters.
