Dehradun: Visitors to the Ti hri Lake Festival will get the opportunity to experience a wide array of activities in one event—exploring the scenic Ti hri Lake, enjoying adventure boating/rafting on the fast-flowing Ganga, trekking the mysterious Khait mountains, visiting the ancient Raghunath Temple in Devprayag, and practicing yoga on the Sangam banks.
The “Himalayan O₂ – Ti hri Lake Festival,” organized jointly by the Ti hri District Administration and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council, is scheduled to be inaugurated on 6th March by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The four-day festival aims to establish Ti hri district as a major tourist destination and create employment and self-employment opportunities at the local level. According to District Magistrate Nitika Khandelwal, adventurous, cultural, and entertainment programs will be organized at various locations in the district during the festival.
Series of Adventure Activities
During the festival, activities such as trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and adventure boating/rafting will take place. In addition, local cultural programs, culinary competitions, fashion shows to promote folk culture, and photography contests will also be held.
Opportunity to Win up to 1 Lakh Rupees
Prizes for different competitions:
- First Prize: Up to 1 lakh rupees
- Second Prize: 50,000 rupees
- Third Prize: 25,000 rupees
- Additionally, ten consolation prizes of 5,000 rupees each
Cultural Evenings as a Highlight
The inaugural ceremony on 6th March at Koti Colony will feature a food festival, Mr. and Ms. Ti hri competition, and a theatrical presentation based on the life of Veer Bhard Madhav Singh Bhandari. Pandavaj Band will perform on 6th March, and renowned singer Amit Trivedi will perform on 7th March.
A Unique Blend of Adventure and Spirituality
Participants will have the opportunity to visit the Raghunath Temple in Devprayag, witness the Ganga Aarti at Sangam, practice yoga, and tour the historic Vedshala.
Ti hri Lake Festival promises to give a new identity to tourism in the state by combining adventure, culture, and spirituality.
