Dehradun/Pipalkoti: Following the accident at the under-construction THDC tunnel in Mayapur, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a review meeting with officials in Pipalkoti. Giving the highest priority to safely rescuing the remaining three people trapped inside the tunnel, the Chief Minister directed officials to expedite the rescue operation.
The Chief Minister directed officials to make effective use of all available resources and technical expertise in the rescue operation. He instructed the NDRF, SDRF, ITBP, police, administration and THDC teams to maintain close coordination and pay special attention to the safety of the rescue personnel.
He directed officials to continuously monitor the technical condition of the tunnel, water drainage and debris-removal operations. He also instructed that compensation and financial assistance be provided to the families of those who died in the accident at the earliest, as per the applicable rules.
The Chief Minister directed officials to provide the injured with the best possible medical facilities and extend every possible administrative assistance to the affected families. Cabinet Minister Bharat Chaudhary, MLA Bhupal Ram Tamta, District Panchayat Chairperson Daulat Singh Bisht, senior officials and public representatives were present at the meeting.
