Dehradun: In an effort to strengthen healthcare services, the Uttarakhand government has transferred and appointed new Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) in seven districts.
According to orders issued by Health Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, the following officers have been assigned new responsibilities:
- Dr. Yogesh Purohit – CMO, Almora
- Dr. Rashmi Pant – CMO, Nainital
- Dr. Harish Chandra Pant – CMO, Pithoragarh
- Dr. Meghna Aswal – CMO, Pauri
- Dr. Amit Kumar Shukla – CMO, Rudraprayag
- Dr. Ram Prakash – CMO, Tehri
- Dr. Shyam Vijay – CMO, Uttarkashi
The Health Department stated that the objective of these appointments is to improve the quality of healthcare services and ensure better medical facilities for citizens, particularly in the state’s mountainous and remote regions where healthcare access remains a challenge.
Health Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey expressed confidence that the newly appointed CMOs will play an important role in strengthening healthcare systems and improving service delivery in their respective districts.
The government believes that this administrative reshuffle will enhance departmental efficiency and further improve access to healthcare services across Uttarakhand.
