Dehradun: Efforts to make the City Forest Park developed by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority more attractive and visitor-friendly have gained momentum. Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan visited the park on Monday to review facilities and issued several important directions to officials.
Spread across nearly 12 acres, the modern recreational park features a wide range of amenities. During the inspection, the Chief Secretary reviewed the Children’s Park, cafeteria, cycling track, 3D movie theatre, solar power plant, nursery, open gym, open-air theatre, EV charging station, and visitor information center.
He also interacted with visitors and cafeteria operators to gather feedback regarding the quality of services and facilities available within the park.
Focus on Public Participation
Emphasizing the importance of citizen engagement, the Chief Secretary instructed MDDA officials to develop an online QR code-based feedback system within the park. He stated that suggestions and experiences shared by visitors can help make public spaces more useful, efficient, and user-friendly.
Emphasis on Maintenance and Visitor Experience
Anand Bardhan also stressed the need to further strengthen cleanliness, maintenance standards, and visitor amenities. He noted that City Forest Park has become an important destination for recreation and nature-based activities for residents of the capital city, making continuous improvement essential.
MDDA Assures Compliance
Following the inspection, Banshidhar Tiwari said that all directions issued by the Chief Secretary would be implemented. He added that necessary steps would be taken soon to enhance facilities and improve visitor experiences.
According to Tiwari, the park will be made more attractive and accessible through the use of modern technology and better management practices, further strengthening its role as a key recreational destination in Dehradun.
