Dehradun: The issue concerning the appointment of 24 selected homeopathic medical officers in Uttarakhand has now reached Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Seven BJP MLAs have written to the Chief Minister demanding that the selected candidates be appointed at the earliest.
The Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board had initiated the recruitment process for 24 posts of Homeopathic Medical Officer in 2022. After a lengthy process, interviews were conducted in July 2025, and 24 candidates were finally selected on November 25, 2025. However, appointments have still not been made.
After questions were raised over the recruitment process, the government ordered a departmental inquiry on April 13, 2026. Following completion of the inquiry, the report was sent to the Chief Minister. A decision on the appointments is now expected after the Chief Minister’s approval.
Seven BJP MLAs Write to the Chief Minister
Seeking the appointment of the selected candidates, Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, Tehri MLA Kishore Upadhyay, Yamunotri MLA Kedar Singh Rawat, Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari, Ghansali MLA Shaktilal Shah, Doiwala MLA Brij Bhushan Gairola, and Purola MLA Durgeshwar Lal have written to the Chief Minister.
In their letter, the MLAs said that despite completion of the selection process, the appointments remain pending, while allopathic medical officers selected through the same selection board have already been appointed. They demanded early appointment of the 24 selected medical officers in the public interest and keeping healthcare services in mind.
BJP MLA Vinod Chamoli said that he wrote to the Chief Minister at the request of the selected candidates. The government is examining the matter, and a positive decision is expected.
Meanwhile, Homeopathic Medical Services Minister Madan Kaushik said that there had been some difficulties regarding the appointments, but these have now been resolved. The selected medical officers will be appointed soon.
