‘Drugs Free Uttarakhand’ campaign: Awareness marathon held in Haldwani, CM Dhami flags off event

Dehradun/Haldwani: An awareness marathon was organized on Sunday at MB Ground under the ‘Drugs Free Uttarakhand’ campaign. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the event and spread awareness among youth and school students against drug abuse.

A large number of students, youth, and local residents took part enthusiastically. The Chief Minister also joined the run, encouraging participants and explaining the harmful effects of drugs. He said drug addiction not only harms an individual’s health but also negatively impacts society as a whole.

He emphasized that the state government is working seriously toward achieving the goal of a ‘Drugs Free Uttarakhand’. Awareness campaigns are being conducted in schools and colleges, while strict action is being taken against drug traffickers.

He added that participation from all sections of society is necessary to make Uttarakhand drug-free and reiterated the goal of achieving this by 2026.
